How To Track Your Dream Podcast Guests
The Goonies director Richard Donner, was apparently eager to return home to Hawaii after a hectic shoot with a cast of kids. He said “I love ‘em to pieces, but I can’t stand it anymore!” After shooting wrapped Steven Spielberg put the whole cast on a plane to surprise Donner before he got home. The video of the prank is priceless.
In today’s newsletter:
Keeping Track: A new way to list and organize your dream podcast guests.
Prelinger Archives: 60,000 ephemeral videos at your fingertips.

Last week I put together a new podcast Notion template called "Podcast Guest Outreach & Management".
There's this idea I love by the marketer Russell Brunson, where he talks about having your "Dream 100".
Your Dream 100 is 100 guests who you dream of having on your podcast someday.
So I built this Notion Template as a place to list out my Dream 100, while also being able to track and organize all guest info.
On the homepage, there's one view where you can list all of the potential guests you'd like to have on your show:
Then below that, there is a calendar view where you can see upcoming guests and spot any schedule conflicts or gaps in your content:
Also, inside each potential guest card, it looks like this:
I can keep track of each guests:
Area of expertise
Contact information
Recording date
Status (if I’ve contacted them or not)
And why I want this guest (Ex: They work for a certain company, they have a unique perspective, etc.)
There’s also another section inside each card where I have a pre-interview checklist so I can make sure I don’t miss any steps before each recording.

Prelinger Archives
The Prelinger Archives is something I’ve been a bit obsessed with for the past month. It’s a collection of over 60,000 "ephemeral" (advertising, educational, industrial, and amateur) films. Started by Rick Prelinger in 1983, it was acquired by the Library of Congress, Motion Picture, Broadcasting and Recorded Sound Division in 2002.
You’ll need to read the about page for specifics around usage rights.
