Let's take a quick look at some popular TikTok and Instagram theories that creators swear by.
On TikTok
Exit the app after posting. Some creators claim that closing the app for a few hours after posting rewards you with more views when you return. TikTok wants to incentivize you to come back, so it pushes your video out more.
Use auto-generated captions even if you have your own. The theory is that TikTok uses the captions for SEO purposes, so it helps surface your video.
Avoid scheduling tools if your account is set to "business." Certain creators think this leads to lower reach.
On Instagram
Post only once per day max. Multiple posts may cause followers and reach to decrease.
Posts stop being pushed out after 24 hours. If a post doesn't take off quickly, it likely never will.
Post more Reels than photos. The Instagram algorithm favors video, so you'll grow your account faster with Reels.
There are so many theories out there! I've tested many of these myself over the years.
The truth is, there is no "one size fits all" approach that works for every creator. Social media algorithms are complex with many variables.
What I can say definitively is this: consistently creating high-quality content will never steer you wrong.
There's proof that some creators grow best by posting 3 times per day.
There's proof that less is more for some accounts.
The only through line is that regardless of frequency, timing, or format, focus on your message and audience first and foremost.
The rest will follow.

Arc Browser
First, I just want to say that browser choice is completely personal. I'm a Google Chrome user, and I have 4 different profiles within Chrome. It takes a lot of clicking and switching between profiles to do what I need. With Arc Browser, it's easier. There are spaces for each profile, all on one screen. I can use simple keyboard shortcuts to switch between profiles, making my workflow faster and more efficient. It's taking some time to get used to, but if you're a multiple profile person like me, you might want to check Arc Browser out.
