The Only Creator Business Feedback That Truly Matters

You know about AI. You know about Dr. Phil. But do you know about Dr. Fill? Dr. Fill, a computer program that solves American-style crossword puzzles, was among the top fifty crossword solvers in the world. Do you have a content-service-business idea that you're trying to get off the ground?

I've been approached by a few creators lately with similar goals, looking to get feedback.

To keep things simple, here are 3 common mistakes I see, and 3 solutions.

Seeking Feedback – Too Little, Too Late

If you only hear "Great idea!" and "Sounds great!" you're not getting the right feedback.

Try to get feedback about your idea from these 3 sources:

  • Your dedicated customers (they've bought into your vision)

  • The near-misses (they hesitated at the final hurdle)

  • The experienced (they've walked this path and have the scars to prove it)

Winging It Without a Process

Your business should not be an abstract idea in your head. It should be a repeatable process that brings predictable results.

Memory is fallible. Processes are not.

Craft a roadmap so detailed that you could hand over the reins tomorrow, and your business would run like a Nokia 3310.

Over-Reliance on Raw Creativity

Pure, unadulterated creativity is electrifying – but it doesn't scale on its own. And most creators want the freedom to be paid for their ideas. This rarely pans out in the beginning. Even worse, your business slows when you slow. Embrace constraints.

Build a content production system that channels your creative thunder into a sustainable, scalable powerhouse.
