Does the Algorithm Even Matter Anymore?

A new study suggests napping helps preserve our brain health. Researchers analyzed data from people aged 40 to 69 and found a causal link between habitual napping and larger total brain volume - a marker of good brain health linked to a lower risk of dementia and other diseases. ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz…

  • Zeroing In: What’s in your hands?

  • Yarn: Easily find words and phrases from movies/tv.

  • Inked: Trevor Noah is getting into podcasting, The U.S. is going after cable tv companies, TikTok COO is moving on, and more.

A pattern that caught my eye this week...

Zeroing in on what's in our hands.

In the realm of podcasting, content creation, online business - and let's face it, life itself - it's too simple to be swept away by things that remain just beyond our grasp.

Did the Instagram algorithm choose to ignore your perfectly crafted post? It's like trying to control the wind - it's not in your hands.

Did your podcast episode not pull in the usual crowd because summer has people stepping out of their normal listening routines? Again, out of your control.

Did an unforeseen emergency throw your schedule off? Certainly, out of your control.

Yet, there's a peace that comes in looking beyond those things and seeing the one thing that will always remain: What's in our hands.

We can't control the algorithm, but we can control how often we post and who we connect with.

We can't control when people will listen, but we can create content that will always have value no matter the season or circumstance.

We can't control the emergency, but we can control how we respond to it.
