DYLANāS DOWNLOAD
A few months back I stumbled upon an interesting Wikipedia article. It was for the 1% rule.
š¤ What's the 1% rule?
The 1% rule suggests only about 1% of Internet users create content, while 99% are just consumers of that content.
š§ Okay, cool, but how's that relevant to me?
Great question. Here's the math:
100 people tune into your podcast? Expect maybe 1 to drop you an email if you ask.
100 views on your Instagram video? 1 might give you that coveted double-tap or comment.
100 reads on this very newsletter? 1 might hit the 'Forward' button.
š” Hereās where it gets fascinating.
This doesnāt mean only 1% actually enjoy your content. Of those 100 consumers, maybe 98 loved what you had to say. They thought you were the bee's knees. They just didn't engage (and thatās ok!).
š Why's the 1% Rule a Game-Changer?
Feeling down about metrics is so easy these days. Thereās always someone doing more. Thereās no limit to how many likes, subscribers, and views you could collect.
The 1% rule is a reminder that your silent-followers outweigh the people who participate.
Keep creating. Keep inspiring. Your audience is out thereā¦theyāre just not as vocal as youād like. Yet.
